Application

Surface Suitability:

To achieve optimal adhesion and performance, it is important to remove any releasing agents, processing aids, or protective agents that may be present on the substrates, particularly when bonding plastics.

Please note that the use of Fix All High Tack INVISIBLE is not recommended for stress-loaded applications involving the bonding of plastics like PMMA (e.g., Plexi® glass) or polycarbonate (e.g., Makrolon® or Lexan®) as it can lead to stress cracking and crazing in these substrates.

Surface Preparation:

To ensure optimal bonding, proper surface preparation is crucial.

For porous surfaces in water-loaded applications, it is recommended to prime the surface with . Smooth surfaces should be degreased before bonding.

Additionally, it is important to remove any releasing agents, processing aids, and protective agents (such as protection foil) from plastic surfaces before bonding.

Conducting a preliminary adhesion test on every surface is also recommended to ensure proper performance.

Application Method:

• Prepare the surfaces to be bonded by following the surface preparation instructions mentioned above.
  
  

• Apply the adhesive evenly onto one of the surfaces using a suitable applicator.
  
  

• Press the surfaces firmly together immediately after applying the adhesive, ensuring full contact.
  
  

• Secure the bonded materials if required until the adhesive sets.
  
  

• Allow the adhesive to cure as per manufacturer's instructions before subjecting it to any stress or moisture.

Cleaning:

Uncured product can be easily cleaned using . For cured sealant, it should be removed mechanically with the aid of .

Follow the instructions provided with Soudal Sealant Remover Spray for effective removal.

Remarks:

• Fix-All High Tack Invisible may be overpainted with water based paints, however due to the large number of paints and varnishes available we strongly suggest a compatibility test before application.
  
  

• The drying time of alkyd resin based paints may increase.
  
  

• Fix-All High Tack Invisible can be applied to a wide variety of substrates. Due to the fact that specific substrates such as plastics, like polycarbonate, etc, may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, we recommend preliminary compatibilty test.
  
  

• While producing plastics very often releasing agents, processing aids and other protective agents (like protection foil) are used. These should be removed prior to bonding. For optimum adhesion the use of Soudal Surface Activator is recommended.
  
  

• Fix-All High Tack Invisible cannot be used on natural stone as the adhesion surface will discolour under influence of the sealant (looks wet) and because this is visible through the crystal clear sealant it seems like staining has occurred.
  
  

• Fix-All High Tack Invisible can not be used as a glazing sealant.
  
  

• Not suitable for bonding aquariums.
  
  

• Fix-All High Tack Invisible can discolour under extreme conditions or after very long UV exposure.
